D.C.'s annual Capital Food Fight fundraiser is no stranger to celebrity appearances, and its 10th Anniversary event this year will certainly be star-studded. The event, which benefits D.C. Central Kitchen, has snagged José Andrés and The Chew's Carla Hall to host. Four local chefs will compete in a live, Iron Chef-esque battle and be judged by Top Chef's Tom Colicchio, PBS Mexican food guru Rick Bayless, Todd English of MXDC (among others) and Art & Soul's Art Smith.
This year, the competing chefs include Toki Underground's Erik Bruner-Yang, 2941's Bertrand Chemel, Woodberry Kitchen's Spike Gjerde and 1789's Anthony Lombardo. Chefs have to make creations out of weird secret ingredients on stage, while attendees circle the stage and sample small bites from 75 of the city's restaurants. The event is scheduled for Nov. 11 — tickets are here.
