SHAW— The Washington Post reports that Julien Shapiro will be the opening chef for Eat the Rich, the anticipated oyster-focused restaurant from Derek Brown. Shapiro is making the jump from Range, where he led the charcuterie program. [WaPo]
GEORGETOWN—The Capella Hotel's Grill Room is launching a new Sausage & Rye Brunch, which involves a tableside cart wheeled over with 10 sausages made by butcher Jamie Stachowski and 10 paired sauces made by Grill Room chef Jakob Esko. Sausage varieties range from duck and port wine sausage to wild boar sausage, and there are specialty rye whiskey-based cocktails too.
