PENN QUARTER— It's been awhile since there's been any word on whether Plan B Burger Bar will come to D.C. But Washington Business Journal brings word that the Connecticut-based chain will, in fact, open at 801 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.
VARIOUS LOCATIONS— Competitive eaters aren't lacking options when it comes to showing off their, um, talent around town. BGR: The Burger Joint is planning a burger-eating competition for the Taste of D.C. event on Sunday, Oct. 13. Bar Louie, meanwhile, is still accepting competitors for its annual tater tot eating competition, scheduled for Thursday. And that's not even counting Taylor Charles Steak & Ice's water ice-eating competition on Saturday.
MERRIFIELD— The new Ovvio Osteria near the Dunn Loring metro is launching a new lunch deal for $12. On Tuesdays-Saturdays, diners can pair two dishes, such as as sweet corn and mushroom risotto and blue bay mussels, or pick one dish and a beer or wine. They'll post each week's menu online.
