H Street Festival; Curbside Cookoff In Wheaton

EVENTS—And the weekend after the H Street Festival, binge at Wheaton's Curbside Cookoff Food Truck Festival. On Sept 28 from 12-8pm next to Wheaton Metro, a dozen food trucks will offer local fare, and there will be more than 20 specialty beers available with 10 discounted tastings going for $20. NEWS—Hula Girl, one of DCist's 14 favorite food trucks, is looking for a not-so-greenhorn to help out in the truck and spread the "Aloha spirit." [DCist, Craigslist]

NEWS—With the region still keeping the Navy Yard tragedy in our thoughts, food trucks are donating proceeds from sales to a victims' fund, such as SUNdeVICH, which raised more than $100 yesterday for the fund. [Twitter]
