A.M. Wine Shoppe, the sister shop of Adams Morgan restaurant Cashion's Eat Place, will close its doors next month. Co-owner Justin Abad tells Eater that the restaurant's last day will be Oct. 6, when its lease ends. The operators were unable to come to an agreement with their landlord to renew the lease.
Abad, however, says he considers the news bittersweet, and offers this tease. "Chef Manolatos and I are very excited to focus our efforts on new projects in the area — and possibly elsewhere in D.C." No word yet on what those projects entail, but Eater will be following their progress. A.M. Wine Shoppe was known for its retail selection as well as its sandwiches, cheeses and picnic baskets. They plan to send out an announcement to their fans on a listserv tomorrow.
