1) Georgetown: Italian restaurant Rialto's grand opening is scheduled for today. The restaurant serves dishes like polenta, pizzas and pastas. Don't show up shabby; there's a dress code downstairs. The restaurant comes from the owners of Thunder Burger & Bar and Bodega, both in Georgetown. Status: Grand opening today. 2915 M St. NW; website.
2) Bethesda: La Piazza Birreria, the beer garden associated with Cesco Osteria, has opened as well. The new space is fashioned from recycled materials, and is serving local beers and Italian bites. Status: Open. 7401 Woodmont Ave. website.
3) Penn Quarter: PoPville updates us on Coffee Alley, which has opened up where Slices on the Walk used to be at the Verizon Center. It's a kiosk and cafe; pretty basic stuff. Status: Certified open. 701 7th Street, NW.
