When Shake Shack Meets CakeLove: Partners in Custard

Looks like Shake Shack is going to make partnerships with local dessert companies a regular thing. After first teaming up with Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken on a coconut doughnut concrete flavor for the opening of the Penn Quarter location, the burger chain now has a new partner in custard crime: CakeLove.

Warren Brown's cupcake-focused bakery will partner with the chain for a Red Velvet frozen custard flavor. Available on each Wednesday in September, the flavor blends Shake Shack custard with CakeLove's red velvet cake. It will be sold at both local Shake Shack locations.

It's been a busy few weeks for CakeLove, which had been rather quiet on the news front before this. The chain is also opening a location at Reagan National Airport.
