The Philly Invasion could be a band at this point. Jose Garces. Stephen Starr. The Federal Donuts crew. And now, Top Chef alumnus Kevin Sbraga is the next chef considering transplanting a Philadelphia-based restaurant in Washington.
The restaurant in question: the eponymous Sbraga, a tasting menu-centric, Modern American restaurant on the city's Avenue of the Arts (the restaurant charges $49 for four courses). Retail broker Jeff Edelstein of Roadside Development tells Eater that the team has been looking at sites in D.C. proper for the restaurant, with the hope of getting something signed this year. No deal yet, though.
Sbraga, a native of New Jersey, was the winner on Season 7 of Top Chef. Eater has reached out to the chef for any additional details.
