Affordable tiki drinks, colorful decor and a big patio are all part of the plan for Bar Charley, the latest project from the El Chucho and Jackie's team, slated to open tonight.

The bar is housed in the former Cajun Experience space. Design details include exposed brick walls, Asian-influenced artwork (including a colorful peacock), splashes of bright blues and reds, and mirror accents. The bar has hardwood floors, comfortable booths and a big bay window area, along with that brick-floored patio.

Bar Charley's promise is to bring drinks customers actually can afford, meaning most are priced in the $7 to $8 range. There are classic cocktails, tiki drinks and some unique offerings from co-owner Gordon Banks. Fritz Hahn also brings word of a unique take on a pickleback and a smoky cognac drink called the Stepdad. Food options range from bison Sloppy Joes to fried eggplant balls.
