1) Georgetown: El Centro D.F. opens its doors today in Georgetown. The former Third Edition space means there is room for about 160 diners, as well as a huge back patio with a firepit and separate bar. The restaurant stretches over multiple floors, with a design from Brie Husted. El Centro will offer a whopping 270 different types of tequila and mezcal. The menu will be similar to the original Logan Circle location, but with more types of guacamole and some new dishes like skillet fajitas and roasted chicken. 2) Shaw: Mandalay is scheduled to open its second location this Sunday. The Burmese restaurant is doing several seatings of a buffet dinner for its first day of service (reservations must be made in advance).
