1) Northeast: Ris has opened her own stand at Union Market. The goat stew is an early favorite, if Twitter can believe. Chef Ris Lacoste is serving up a combination of prepared foods like meatloaf, ingredients like vinegar and stock, and both savory and sweet baked items. Ris Bowls are an option for those visiting the market at lunch, with a mix of soups, salads and entrees being offered. Status: Certified open. 1309 5th St. NE; website.

2) Capitol Hill: Bistro Bis has reopened its doors after a refresh. The restaurant closed briefly last month in order to make time for the design changes, which come just in time for the restaurant's 15th anniversary. GrizForm Architects handled the reboot. There are some photos of the construction work in progress on the restaurant's Facebook page. Status: Open as of yesterday. 15 E St. NW; website.
