The Al Tiramisu Cookbook is Here

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

The chef behind Al Tiramisu has released his own cookbook. Luigi Diotaiuti's cookbook is entitled The Al Tiramisu Restaurant Cookbook: An Elevated Approach to Authentic Italian Cuisine. The cookbook has more than 100 recipes from the longtime area restaurant. It's also a memoir of the chef's career, from Italy to Europe to D.C.

Some of the recipes featured in the cookbook include a cream of chestnut soup, shrimp and cranberry bean salad, grilled sea bass with asparagus and potatoes, tiramisu (naturally) and tuna with onion in Parmigiano Reggiano cups. There's also an Italian cooking primer for home cooks, and wine pairing recommendations.

Signed copies are currently for sale at the restaurant and through its website, and will soon be sold via Amazon, according to a rep.
