Pierogi Time: Liberty Tavern Adds New Menu

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Liberty Tavern's getting creative with a new, monthly menu (don't worry; they're still keeping the pizzas and smoky mussels, too). The restaurant is adding a monthly, rotating group of dishes they're calling their American Heritage Menu. Each month, the restaurant will celebrate a different culinary tradition that has roots in American culture. It'll be a set menu for $45 per person, with optional beverage pairings for $25.

First up: Polish food. Chef Liam LaCivita will concentrate on those dishes which have roots in areas like Pittsburgh's Polish HIll and Philadelphia's Little Poland. He'll be making pierogis, kraut, kielbasa, haluski, stuffed cabbage and more. Future months will celebrate Greek, Irish and other styles of cooking. The Polish menu kicks off in February. The regular menu remains unchanged.
