Osteria Elisir Has Closed its Doors

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Enzo Fargione's Osteria Elisir has served its last meal. The chef shared the news on the Don Rockwell forum. His message reads:

After more then 2 years we decided to call it quits! Elisir and Osteria Elisir have made many people happy and will continue to live in the hearts of those who had supported us and appreciated us. Thank you to all of you Washingtonians.
Our restaurant is now officially closed for good."

There's no announcement on the restaurant's Facebook page or Twitter account yet. The restaurant originally opened as Elisir, a tasting menu-centric concept. It transitioned to the more casual Osteria Elisir almost a year ago, back in February 2013. Chef Fargione recently published his own cookbook.
