Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining and nightlife events and promotions going on around the city.

1) Jetties Chevy Chase Grand Opening

Where: 5632 Connecticut Ave. NW

When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What: Jetties opens its sixth sandwich shop this weekend in Chevy Chase. Expect face painting, balloon animals and free T-shirts for the kids, plus prizes and giveaways for everyone.

2) Cochon Heritage BBQ

Where: At Taste of DC

Pennsylvania Ave. at 12th St. NW

When: Sunday from 4-7:30 p.m.

What: This spinoff event of Cochon 555 has chefs including George Pagonis, Scott Drewno and Joe Palma all competing against each other to showcase pig. Tickets are $100 and available online. There will also be cocktails, appetizers, oysters and more.

3) Taste of DC

Where: Pennsylvania Ave. NW 9-14th Streets

When: Saturday and Sunday from 12-7 p.m.

What: Taste of DC takes over the streets of downtown this weekend. They'll have more than 50 beers and 50 wines, more than 40 restaurants making dishes, food trucks on premises, live music, contests and more. Admission is $10 but attendees still need to buy tasting tickets to try items (mostly $1 each). More information is here.

4) Taste of Bethesda

Where: Woodmont Triangle Area

When: Saturday 11 a.m to 4 p.m.

What: More than 60 restaurants are participating in Taste of Bethesda this year. Not unlike Taste of DC, this event has bites of food, live music, arts & crafts and more. Admission is free but tasting ticket packs are $5. More info here.

5) Courthouse Arts & Beer Festival

Where: The top of the Courthouse Metro station.

When: Sunday 12-7 p.m.

What: This new event will include beer tastings, live music, art competitions, a food truck rodeo and a craft beer competition. A $35 ticket includes admission, a glass and beer tastings. More info here.

ALSO THIS WEEKEND: It's Baltimore Beer Week...some restaurants including Copperwood Tavern, El Centro DF, El Centro DF Georgetown, Masa 14, Ambar, Toro Toro and Zengo are offering Monday brunch on account of Columbus Day.
