Vapiano Closes Bethesda Row Location (Updated)

The restaurant company says it has no plans to seek out new stores in Maryland at this time.

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Pizza and Italian chain Vapiano has closed in Bethesda. Robert Dyer confirms the Bethesda Row location is up for lease.

Eater has reached out to the company for any additional details on the shutter. The chain operates several other locations in the area, in such neighborhoods as Chinatown and Arlington.

UPDATE: A spokesperson for Vapiano told Eater there are no immediate plans to find a replacement location for the Bethesda store. "The simple answer is that we don't currently have plans to open in the near future, preferring to focus in our existing stores in DC and Virginia; however that can easily change as and when the right opportunity arises," he said via email.
