"It's over, like it's over before it even started."

D.C.'s own George Pagonis was the first chef eliminated on the season premiere of 'Top Chef' last night, and that's what he had to say about it.

After his team struggled in the quickfire competition (mackerel was a problem), the chef had to face off against Gregory Gourdet in a head-to-head competition. Gourdet won out. Pagonis obsesses over what happened with Richard Blais in this Bravo video. For a great recap, head to Eater National.

Since no contestant ever seems to be truly eliminated on Top Chef, it's possible Pagnois will return in a later episode; stay tuned.

Earlier in the episode, Pagonis said, "If I don’t last long this competition, Mike Isabella's definitely going to rub it in my face. He’ll never let me forget it." Guess Pagonis is in for some ribbing from his employer.
