City Tap House Plans to Fill a Giant Pumpkin with Beer and Tap It

The bar's Pumpkin Smash event is scheduled for Monday.

Everyone's probably had a pumpkin beer already sometime this fall. But have they drank beer out of an actual pumpkin?

Do it at City Tap House Monday. The bar has purchased a 250 pound pumpkin from Nalls Farm Market in Berryville, Va., that it plans to fill with beer and tap like a beer keg.

They'll host Elysian Brewing Company out of Seattle, and devote seven of the bar's tap lines to the brewery's various pumpkin beers, from its Night Owl Pumpkin Ale to its Great Pumpkin Imperial Ale. Prices are $6-$13 for a pour.
