Whiskey for Shaw: Lost & Found Aims to Open Next Week

Sandwiches, beer and whiskey.

One of the owners of Nanny O'Brien's is looking to open Lost & Found in Shaw sometime next week.

Brian Leonard is one of the owners behind the bar, which he describes as a small neighborhood bar with craft beer and whiskey. It's headed to 1240 9th St. NW.

The bar's name comes from its look — the owners are outfitting the place with an assortment of old recycled items, from alcohol signs to license plates. Lost & Found is near Blagden Alley and will have two bars, and a focus on bourbons and ryes. "There's an old, rustic feel to the place; it's comfortable," he said.

Lost & Found isn't aiming to be a restaurant: they'll have a snack list, and Leonard is partnering with The Carving Room in Mount Veron Triangle to have them cater cold sandwiches, cheeses and hummus plates. A happy hour will come eventually.
