1) Northern Virginia Fall Brewfest

Where: Bull Run Regional Park

7700 Bull Run Drive Centreville, Va.

When: Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.

What: The festival will feature microbrews from breweries across America; admission gets six tastings, and each additional ticket is $1. There's also a cornhole tournament, a cooking with beer demo, food vendors and more. Tickets are $25.

2) Brainfood Burger Battle

Where: Poste, 555 8th St. NW

When: Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

What: This year's fundraiser burger cook-off will find chefs Kyoo Eom, Teddy Folkman, Matt Adler, Will Artley, Nathan Beuchamp, Bertrand Chemel and Mike Matis facing off for burger glory. Tickets start at $75, more info here.

3) Night at the Yards

Where: DC Waterfront Near Nationals Stadium

When: Friday at 7 p.m.

What: More than 25 area restaurants are catering this fundraiser for Living Classrooms. There will be cocktails, a New Orleans band and more. Tickets are $100; more info here.

4) James Beard Night of Culinary Stars

Where: Mandarin Oriental Hotel

When: Friday at 6:30 p.m.

What: This big-ticket event (it's $350 per person) has several D.C. chefs (and out-of-towners) coming together to cook and benefit the James Beard Foundation. Vikram Sunderam, Marjorie Meek-Bradley, Charles Phan from The Slanted Door and more. Additional info here.

5) Tony & Joe's "Shuck It" Festival

Where: 3000 K St. NW Washington, DC

When: Saturday 2-6 p.m.

What: The festival will include craft beers (including local ones), wines, oyster shooters, a pig roast, live music and more. Tickets are $75; more info here.
