Today is the opening day for Reese Gardner’s new, 62-seat restaurant devoted to his home state of Pennsylvania. Located in the former home of Mighty Pint, Second State will start serving lunch and dinner today, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday is slated to begin on November 1.
The rustic decor for Second State is designed by Maggie O'Neill of SwatchRoom, while chef Allan Javery will serve locally-sourced American dishes like pierogies, roasted pheasant, root beer braised short ribs and brown ale butter chicken.
