In June of 2011, a kitchen fire at Capitol Hill’s favorite dive bar Tune Inn caused $75,000 worth of damages. Luckily, the fire was contained to the kitchen and the restaurant was able to reopen in November of that year. There’s a nice side of the story too: bar regulars held a fundraiser after the fire for the bar and its staff and raised a whopping $30,000. [EDC, WaPo]
