Starting today, Café Los Sueños is popping up in the mornings with freshly roasted coffee at Mr. Yogato. The new coffee roastery with a social mission has been serving coffee every Saturday at the Glover Park-Burleith Farmers Market, and now they'll be at Mr. Yogato in Dupont from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
Elizabeth Ryan of Café Los Sueños told Eater DC that the plan is to be there for at least the next six weeks, and possibly longer. They may also increase the hours of the pop-up, if all goes well.
At the pop-up, Café Los Sueños will serve pour-over coffee. Ryan says that they may add baked goods in the future, but for now they're only serving coffee.
Café Los Sueños is the lifelong dream of co-founder and roaster Carlos Payes, who grew up farming coffee in El Salvador and always wanted to own a coffee company. He now owns a 16-acre farm in El Salvador. Café Los Sueños will always offer coffee from El Salvador, in addition to beans from places like Guatemala and Ethiopia. The social mission of the coffee roastery is to help with community development in El Salvador and other coffee-growing communities.
UPDATED: Ryan tells Eater that the pop-up's hours have been expanded to 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and they'll be giving away free samples all this week. Loyalty cards (buy 10, get one free) will be available starting next week.
