Next up for CityCenterDC: a restaurant from one of D.C.'s own.
Amy Brandwein will leave Alba Osteria to strike out on her own with Centrolina. It will be at 974 Palmer Alley and open next spring.
The restaurant will be about 4,000 square feet in size, with 52 seats in the dining room, a 12 seat bar and a patio. There will also be a market selling meat, fish and produce. CORE is designing the space.
Brandwein said in a press release that her inspiration comes from the combination market/restaurants of Italy. Expect a small menu of about 15 rotating dishes from different regions of ItaIy. All wines will be Italian, while beers will skew local and there will be Italian cocktails as well.
The market will be a place to buy items like fresh pasta, sauces, canned Italian products and wine, along with meats, produce and prepared food items and coffee.
