Carla Hall can raise some money. Her Kickstarter campaign for Carla Hall's Southern Kitchen raised an impressive $264,703 and counting. The goal was $250,000.
Hall plans to bring a restaurant specializing in Nashville hot chicken to New York City. She says D.C. will be the home of the second location of the restaurant. The project had more than 1,500 backers.
Hall lives in the D.C. area now (though she spends a lot of her time in New York due to her gig hosting "The Chew"), but grew up in Nashville, which specializes in the chicken.
