After a $250 million makeover, Springfield Mall will open its doors October 17 as the new Springfield Town Center. With the new development comes new restaurants, including Maggiano’s Little Italy, which will be ready to welcome diners on opening day on October 17.

According to a spokesperson for STC, additional restaurants including Yard House, Chuy’s, &pizza and Nando's Peri-Peri will be open at Springfield Town Center by the holidays. Meanwhile, barbecue restaurant Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill and Zinburger will open in the spring of 2015 at the mall. If a few of those don't sound familiar, there's a reason for that: Wood Ranch will be the first location for the restaurant on the East Coast, while Yard House and Zinburger, a wine bar with burgers, will open their first locations in the Washington area at Springfield Town center.

As previously reported by Eater DC, other restaurant tenants include Pholicious, Oliver's Chicken, Kelly's Cajun Grill, Auntie Anne's and Tutti Frutti. The mall's food court will include features like a working fireplace and windows that can open to create a porch-like dining experience; an update on which food court tenants are coming wasn't immediately available.

Next Friday's grand opening is set to kick off at 10 a.m., with live music, DJs, performances, and a free gift card for the first 200 guests.
