Emporiyum's Artisanal Eats; Barracks Row Culinary Classes

Plus DGS Delicatessen's friends and family celebratory dinner and a Bluejacket pop-up beer garden.

1) Emporiyum

When: Saturday (sold out) and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Union Market

1309 5th St. NE

What: Two-day artisanal food extravaganza Emporiyum brings food and drink from around the country to Union Market for a curated marketplace. Representatives from local and national food businesses like Momofuku Milk Bar, East Side King, Mast Brothers Chocolate, Jeni's, Woodberry Kitchen and Black Seed Bagels are all slated to appear, as are Chef Paul Qui and Chef Erik Bruner-Yang. Tickets are $20 for general admission, find out more here.

2) Fifth Street Folly Street Party with Bluejacket and Red Apron

When: November 14 - November 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: Union Market

Lot on Penn Ave. NE, between 4th St. NE and 5th St. NE

What: There's a lot going on this weekend at Union Market. In addition to Emporiyum, there's also shopping market Thread, a ticketed Gilt City Warehouse sale, and Bluejacket will launch its first-ever pop-up beer garden. Stop by for Red Apron franks and Bluejacket's beers, with insight from Bluejacket beer director Greg Engert, who will be on hand to showcase the eight selected brews.

3) Barracks Row Culinary Education Crawl

When: Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Various Barracks Row restaurants

What: Barracks Row chefs and businesses are banding together this weekend to teach culinary classes. Learn how to make Balkan traditional dish sarma at Ambar, oyster shucking basics at Senart's, pastry techniques from District Doughnut and more. Classes range from $20 to $35, see full class schedule with description and times here.

4) DGS Delicatessen's Second Anniversary Dinner

Where: 1317 Connecticut Ave. NW

When: Saturday evening

What: DGS is celebrating with a special dinner enlisting the talents of chef Jeremiah Langhorne of the upcoming The Dabney, Dolcezza's Robb Duncan and baker Mark Furstenburg, meat farmer Bev Eggleston and vegetable specialist Steve Turnage.
