Here's something that will help salad chain Sweetgreen increase its presence on the West Coast — $18.5 million in new funding.

The investment comes from several sources, including previous investor Revolution Growth (Steve Case's company), Stonyfield Farm's Gary Hirshberg, restaurateur Danny Meyer and chef Daniel Boulud.

The money will be used to help with expansion, as well as fund its seasonal supply chain, enhance its schools program and aid with technological advancement.

Salad chain Sweetgreen got its start here but has since expanded to New York, Bston and Philadelphia. Los Angeles is next in 2015.
