Inside City Perch, Chef Matt Baker's New Home by the Movie Theater

The restaurant is being marketed towards neighbors and those going to the iPic movie theater.

Oysters and a movie? That's the thought behind City Perch, the new restaurant open in the Pike & Rose development, above the new iPic movie theater.

The restaurant, which is now open, is the brainchild of Sherry Yard (VP of Culinary Direction for iPic Entertainment) and executive chef Matt Baker (most recently of The Occidental). They'll serve dishes like homemade biscuits, oysters, shareable salads, and a waffle with smoked salmon or a "Bratwurst in a Blanket". Dishes are either prepared charbroiled, rotisserie-style or raw, and ingredients lean local. Yard designed the desserts, including a cream puff brulee and a baked Alaska pie.

Yard, who used to work for Wolfgang Puck, was also behind the menu at the movie theater itself, which is designed to cater to those "dining in the dark." Status: Certified open. 11830 Grand Park Ave. North Bethesda, Md.; website.
