Much ink was spilled about the closure of the Crumbs Bake Shop chain and the end of the cupcakes trend. And in July, there were rumors that some stores would be resurrected, including possible D.C. locations. So Eater called to investigate after spotting the following tweet from Washington Post fashion writer Robin Givhan noting that Crumbs is back:
As abruptly as it closed, Crumbs bakery is open. The giant cupcakes have returned to Union Station. No judgement.

An employee at the Union Station Crumbs Bake Shop answered the phone and told Eater DC that the shop reopened October 21. According to Crumbs' website, the Union Station shop is the only location open in Washington, D.C.
