1) Buttercream Bakeshop Pop-Up

When: Friday

11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Where: Cork Market

1805 14th St. NW

What: Tiffany MacIsaac's new pastry business will be pre-selling a variety of treats, like her "Cookie Monster" cake, as well as other treats like mini oatmeal cream pies, peanut butter Ho-Hos, coffee-raspberry marshmallows and more. She'll also have items available to purchase at the pop-up, like slices of beet red velvet cake, macaroons and more. Cork's owners will be pouring tastes of wine to go with the sweets.

2) Metropolitan Cooking Show

When: Nov. 8-9

Where: Walter E. Washington Convention Center

801 Mt. Vernon Place NW

What: Celebrity chefs including Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri and more will all be on hand to speak, give demos, sell books and more. The show features tastings, talks and plenty of food. More info here.

3) Rock the Core Cider Festival

When: Saturday Nov. 8

Where: Union Market's Dock 5

1309 5th St. NE

What: For $40, attendees can enjoy unlimited cider and beer, along with live music, food truck food, lawn games and more. More info here.

4) All-You-Can-Eat Pig Roast

When: Saturday Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.

Where: Little Miss Whiskey's

1104 H St. NE

What: For $40, attendees can drink unlimited keg beer (including on the Wings of Armageddon) and eat roast pig (courtesy of The Queen Vic chef Ryan Gordon). More info and tickets here.


5) DC Beer Festival

When: Saturday 12-4

Where: Nats Park

1500 S. Capitol St. SE

What: The festival returns to Nats Park with fall beers from dozens of breweries, live music, games, DJs and more. It's $40 for general admission. More info here.
