Grilled Cheese for Valentine's Day? Melt Shop is Targeting a February Opening

Here's some gooey news for later this winter — New York-based Melt Shop is hoping to open in D.C. in February.

Melt Shop confirmed plans to open a D.C. location at 1901 L St. NW back in August. The location is where Energy Kitchen used to be. A spokeswoman says the first week of February is the target for opening.

The restaurant (not unlike D.C.'s own GCDC) specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches, as well as items like tater tots and tomato soup.
