The first restaurant could open by spring 2015.

The Washington Business Journal reports that NYC's famous The Halal Guys kabob chain is headed to D.C., and it's not just one location. The plan is to open as many as 10 stores in the District, and possibly locations in Northern Virginia as well. WBJ reports that the first D.C. store could open as early as the second quarter of 2015.

The Halal Guys began as a street cart, and Eater reported this summer that franchise consulting firm Fransmart plans to open 100 brick and mortar shops branded with The Halal Guys' logo, with the goal that The Halal Guys will become "...the Chipotle of Middle Eastern food."
