Cats, Couches and Cans of PBR: On the Scene at D.C.'s First Cat Cafe Pop-Up

The hipsters seem to have outnumbered the cats.

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

D.C. got its first taste of what a cat cafe is like last night at the Rock & Roll hotel. The venue hosted a pop-up event with cats available for adoption; 15 percent of sales went to the Humane Society as well.

The city will see a more permanent rendition of the sweeping trend if Crumbs & Whiskers, currently in the Kickstarter fundraising phase, comes to fruition.
