1) Columbia Heights: Zombie Coffee, the java shop that exists in partnership with FroZenYo, is said to be taking over a space at 3100 14th St. NW that was previously occupied by a Tasti D Lite, says PoPville. The space has been vacant for over two years; now it will be a feli a. [PLYWOOD]

2) Franklin Square: "Burrito-sized sushi rolls" sounds like some kind of fever dream concoction, but according to Young & Hungry, they're coming to 825 14th St. NW in April. Opening there is Buredo, a Japanese fusion restaurant that will allow customers to build up their big rolls, Chiptole-style. [PLYWOOD]

3) Bethesda: Coming soon is Gusto, a fast-casual Italian restaurant, to 4733 Elm Street, which is nearby to Bethesda Row, reports Bethesda Now. It's from New Jersey and also has a Chiptole-like set-up — diners choose from one of three entrée choices and build out their meal from there. [PLYWOOD]

4) Bethesda: Stella Barra, the California pizza import, and Summer House Santa Monica (a sister restaurant) will open January 15 at Bethesda's new Pike & Rose development, reports Robert Dyer. They're both efforts from Jeff Mahin. Expect pizzas, extensive wine lists and lots of wood-fired grill dishes. [PLYWOOD]
