NAVY YARD—The Washington Post details the best places to eat while taking in the Winter Classic at Nationals Park in the Navy Yard neighborhood. Suggestions include The Big Stick, the recently opened ski bunny hangout, and Bluejacket, which has its patio opened for winter complete with an outdoor grill. [WaPo]

NOW TRENDING—Washingtonian has a fun list of what they think will be 2015's biggest food trends (and which buzzy dishes need to fall off menus.) Ingredients and dishes like sipping broths, doughnut holes and gummy bears get the seal of approval, whereas pink peppercorns, duck fat and gussied-up candy bars do not. [Washingtonian]

VIDEO INTERLUDE—The National Geographic held a chat with some of D.C.'s food peeps — Hank's Oyster Bar's chef/owner Jamie Leeds, D.C. It's a part of the organization's Live! series and covers the influence of Alice Waters, the impact of consciously sourced ingredients and more. [Twitter]
