Unlimited Beer for $40 and Other Weekend Food Events

Republic's celebrating their first anniversary with music and birthday cake, while 2941 is offering a wild game dinner.

1) Republic's Holi-Versary

When: Saturday evening

Where: Republic

What: It's Republic's first anniversary, and they're planning some late night specials on Saturday. There will be specialty cocktails, and everyone gets birthday cake between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. The garage rock band Motel Beds will also perform. And for brunch the next day, there will two for one mimosas priced at $7 and live jazz.

2) Lagos Pop-up at Mess Hall

When: Saturday

6 p.m.

Where: Mess Hall

What: Nigerian-born chef and Detroit resident Tunde Wey is traveling the country hosting pop-ups to fine-tune his restaurant concept, and this Saturday Wey drops in at Mess Hall. For $85 plus a $5.67 processing fee, the dinner includes eight Nigerian dishes like goat pepper soup and jollof rice, three drink pairings and gratuity. The 9 p.m. seating is sold out, but tickets for the 6 p.m. seating are available here.

3) Wild Game Dinner

When: Sunday

Reservations accepted from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Where: 2941 Restaurant

2941 Fairview Park Drive, Falls Church, VA

What: Try a six-course wild game dinner with dishes like pheasant, Scottish Mallard Duck, and Braised Scottish Hare. See the whole menu here. The dinner costs $95 per person with wine pairings for an additional price. Call (703) 270-1500 for reservations.

4) Hoppy Holidays Beer Festival

When: Saturday

12 p.m. session; 4:30 p.m. session; 9 p.m. session

Where: Dock 5 at Union Market

1309 5th St. NE

What: Drink the District is throwing a beer festival with food trucks, unlimited craft beer, a live DJ & emcee, backyard games and more. Tickets range from $40 to $50, and are available here.

5) Last Anju of the Year

When: Friday night at 10 p.m.

Where: Mandu

453 K St. NW

What: Monthly pop-up event Anju is held for the last time this year at Mandu. The guest chefs are Scott Drewno from The Source, Victor Albisu from Taco Bamba and Del Campo, and Chris Ford, Bryan Voltaggio's corporate pastry chef. Here's the menu.
