Fans of Newton's Table have the rest of the year to get to the restaurant before it closes.
After a big New Year's Eve party, the restaurant will close for a few days and reopen as Bethesda Barbecue Company.
"I am beyond excited about this new concept and venture," owner Dennis Friedman said via email. "This won't be your average BBQ joint. Renovations have already begun. Even Though the decor and menu will change, the quality, passion, and attention to detail will not. I'm partnering with local farms and plan to focus on thoughtful food with integrity."
Friedman has been planning for some time to shift Newton's Table to a more casual operation.
