Alexandria will soon have two restaurants from the Bastille team: the original restaurant is expanding to a bigger location, and a new one will replace it at the old space.
Christophe & Michelle Poteaux's restaurant only has 45 seats in its original location. When it moves, it will have an expanded menu, private dining options and a bigger bar. The new home is at the Asher development near Braddock Metro. There is 3,500 square feet of space at the location, with room for a patio, too. The decor will be reminiscent of the original Bastille, according to a press release. There will be a semi-open kitchen and wine on display (Mark Slater will be sommelier at both restaurants).
Meanwhile, Bistro Royal will open at 1201 N. Royal Street. It will be a casual restaurant with simple bistro fare and a small wine list. Both restaurants will open in early 2015.
