Nando's Penn Quarter Closes Briefly for Revamp

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

The bad news for Nando's Peri-Peri addicts: the chain's flagship location on 7th St. NW is closing for a revamp. The good news: the closure is only for two days, and they'll be reopening on Thursday.

Nando's will add new, original South African artwork to the restaurant, and change the seating arrangement so that there will be both fixed seating and a new communal table. A new Coca-Cola Freestyle machine is also on the way, and the color scheme will change to some degree. The restaurant first opened its doors in 2008, and was the first U.S. location of the chain.

Nando's fans are being compensated for the wait, though. They'll have all day-happy hour on Thursday and Friday to show off the changes, and they're handing out "Sorry for the Cock Block" vouchers today and tomorrow, which are valid for a free appetizer.
