Heavy Seas Alehouse definitely has a pirate-influenced brand, and it's no secret when walking into their new Rosslyn bar and restaurant. The alehouse opens today after a week of events and mock service.
Though the restaurant serves some other local brews, the emphasis is on beer from this Baltimore-based brewery, including seasonal blends, cask pours, specialty brews and their traditional big sellers, like Loose Cannon and Powder Monkey.
The menu sports a mix of seafood (appropriate), traditional pub fare like burgers and more ambitious dishes, like a smoked chicken penne, and some interesting desserts like a mango key lime pie. Executive Chef Matt Seeber oversees the menu (he does for the Baltimore location as well).
