1) Jonah-fact
Where: Artifact Coffee
1500 Union Ave. Baltimore, Md.
When: Friday and Saturday (6:30 and 8:30 p.m.)
What: Road trip time. Chef collaborations are becoming quite the thing over at Baltimore's Artifact coffee. This one brings Jonah Kim of Pabu to the restaurant, making Korean dishes with local ingredients. For reservations, call 410-464-8000.
2) Pinstripes Opens
Where:322 M St. NW Washington, DC
When: Friday event, Saturday to the public
What: D.C.'s newest bowling alley/restaurant/bocce court venue opens its doors this weekend. There's a private event tonight and then it's all systems go Saturday. Bowl a game and order some chicken marsala in the process.
3) Olympic opening ceremony party at Mari Vanna
Where: Mari Vanna
1141 Connecticut Ave NW
When: Friday evening
What: Mari Vanna has three Sochi-inspired dishes on their menu in honor of the Olympics (kabos, soups, cheese bread). They're also going to be hosting an Olympics-themed happy hour starting at 6 p.m. tonight with a free vodka shot and free pirozhki.
4) Cupid's Bar Crawl
Where: Dupont Circle
When: Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m.
What: Here's one way to opt out of the Valentine's Day circus (or opt in?); go to a Cupid themed bar crawl instead. Visit some of the usual lower Dupont suspects, like Ozio and Sign of the Wale, and experience specials like $2 Yuenglings and $4 Cupid shots. More info here.
5) Pork Cook-Off
Where: The Grill Room

When: Friday and Saturday
What: The Grill Room chef Jakob Esko and some of this friends are having a pork cookoff this weekend, with several "snout to tail" dishes available. Here's the full menu. Guest chefs include Yvan Mucharraz of Mexico, John Manolatos of Cashion's Eat Place and Bev Eggleston of Eco Friendly Foods. Reservations are required.
