Brisket at the Building Museum: Hill Country's Backyard BBQ Returns in May

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

It's happening again. Hill Country's popular outdoor pop-up, the Backyard Barbecue, will return to the lawn of the National Building Museum this summer.

The pop-up will kick off May 1. Specific details are still to come, but there will be barbecue menu items, Shiner beer, live music and more. The event will run through Labor Day weekend. There were several cocktails available last year, and menu items like brisket sandwiches.

The event runs Thursdays-Saturdays during the warmer months. People can also book the venue for private events like rehearsal dinners and corporate parties. The hours have changed, though - the event will run from 4-9 p.m.
