Two Capitol Hill watering holes are closing at the end of April. Pour House and Top of the Hill, both located at 319 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, are closing up shop. Owners Mark Menard and Mike Schuster sent out an email blast confirming the shutter last night.

We couldn't have asked for a better ride and we want to express our sincere gratitude to the neighbors, patrons and staff who have become our extended family over the past 11 years. While our decision was a difficult one, we look forward to remaining a part of the Capitol Hill and DC community through Trusty's and Star & Shamrock, and the soon-to-open Barrel and Compass Rose.

The bar will still hold its March Madness festivities, and plans to host a big closing bash next month, though they haven't figured out details yet. Pour House was one of the city's main hangouts for Pittsburgh fans, while Top of the Hill was a traditional bar upstairs that was also used for private parties.
