Richard Sandoval and Ivan Iricanin continue to expand the restaurateur's mini empire in D.C. with Toro Toro, scheduled to open at the end of the month at 1300 I St. NW. The Latin-inspired steakhouse will feature small plates, bottomless brunch and a variety of meats carved tableside. Stephen Hartzell is overseeing the menu.

The design of the more than 12,000 square foot space comes courtesy of LW Design Group LLC of Dubai, UAE. The restaurant's look is supposed to combine Japanese and Latin sensibilities, with a big open dining room, high-backed chairs, family-style dining tables and an orange color scheme. There's a fireplace, big chandeliers, leather couches and other accents, from copper to cowhide.
