Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events and promotions going on around the city:
1)Saturday Beer Events
Where:Walter E. Washington Convention Center/National Building Museum
What:Saturday brings not one, but two craft beer events. First up is the first DC Craft Beer festival at the Convention Center (from the producers of the New York event of the same name). There are two sessions of beer tastings with more than 150 craft beers available. More info here. For more of a local spin, there's the annual charity event, the Brewers Ball, though it appears to be sold out.
2) DC Whiskey Walk
Where: Starts at James Hoban's
1 Dupont Circle NW
When: Saturday at noon
What:Participants will get to sample a 1 oz pour of whiskey at several participating bars. Participating places include Black Whiskey, Maddy's, Madhatter, Board Room and more. Tickets are $55 — more info here.
3) Celebrating Food Conference
Where: The Universities at Shady Grove, Rockville
When: Saturday, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
What: Les Dames d'Escoffier have put together an all day food and cooking conference, with a speech by Top Chef's Carla Hall, plenty of cooking classes and informational panels on topics like food writing and food photography. More info here; tickets are $125.
4) TKO Takeover
Where: Artifact Coffee
1500 Union Ave. in Baltimore
When:Friday and Saturday
What: Tiffany MacIsaac and Kyle Bailey of GBD, Birch and Barley, Bluejacket and more are the next group of DC chefs to take over artifact coffee. They'll be making fried chicken, doughnuts, biscuits and more, with an emphasis on gluten-free items. More info here.
5) New Brunch at P.J. Clarke's

When: This weekend
What: P.J. Clark'es has a new brunch menu, with the option of adding bottomless cocktails for $18.84. Brunch items range from a salmon scrabble to a spinach and goat cheese omelet to caramel apple pancakes. There are also several types of eggs benedict from which to choose.
