Peet's Coffee & Teawill be opening 23 stores in the D.C. area this spring and summer, as part of its nationwide expansion plan. The coffee chain's mobile truck was giving out samples over the weekend at 17th and Pennsylvania Ave. NW.

Peet's locations will begin to open during April. The company hasn't shared specifics about when each individual location will open, but says the rollout will take place throughout the spring and summer months.

A Peet's spokeswoman declined to share a list of specific addresses for the upcoming Peet's locations. But a fact sheet did name which neighborhoods can expect a Peet's in the near future, including Washington D.C., Bethesda, Silver Spring, Hunt Valley (near Baltimore), Baltimore, Vienna, Falls Church, Arlington, Fairfax, Springfield and Bristow, Va. So looks like they're considering Baltimore as part of the D.C. area. Many of the locations will be converted Caribou Coffee stores (the company also recently signed its first downtown lease).

There are currently about 230 Peet's stores across the country. The company roasts its own beans in small batches, and is based out of Emeryville, Calif.
