District Flea, Opening Day, Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Welcome back to our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographer Rey Lopez visits some of the city's iconic bars and restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, Eater takes a slightly different spin by visiting District Flea on opening weekend.

Now in its second year, District Flea isn't only a destination for the city's shoppers. The open-air flea market is also a culinary destination in its own right. Spotted during opening weekend: vendors such as Cowbell Kitchen and District Doughnuts, long lines for Pepe and a whole pig on the grill. District Flea will run Saturdays through October in Shaw.
