Years in the making, the Marriott Marquis hotel opens today in D.C. This is the hotel dedicated to the city's convention center, and it's expected to be a major tourism asset for Washington. No menus were available yet, but here's a refresher on the restaurant options there:

Anthem: This is a casual dining restaurant. Think burgers and breakfast. It is partly designed to be a throwback to Hot Shoppes, the restaurant that preceded the hotel company.

The Dignitary: An upscale lounge. Craft cocktails and a patio.

High Velocity: A "high tech" sports bar. Looks like there's another one at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Lobby Bar: Another bar, with a "dramatic, high-end design," according to a press release.

Still to come for the hotel: a specialty restaurant, but details about that place haven't been revealed and it is not debuting on opening day. A spokeswoman says that announcement will come later in the year.

Other details about the food: Executive Chef Matthew Morrison, a D.C. native (he recently worked at the Tysons Corner Ritz-Carlton), is overseeing the cooking. There will be local sourcing of ingredients and a rooftop garden. There's also a Starbucks and a 24/7 food delivery program.
