The restaurant owners behind Food, Wine & Co. and Fish Taco will unveil their third restaurant when City Burger opens to the public Friday. The Chevy Chase-based burger joint is designed to be family-friendly and will serve up burgers, hot dogs, fries and shakes from chef Michael Harr.
The burgers will be relatively straightforward, but there will be some speciality ones to choose from, including a Hawaiian burger with pineapple and ham, and a "City Cheddar" veggie burger with a fried cheese patty. There's a spin on the half smoke among the hot dog choices, too.
The restaurant has seating for 15 people, with a rustic feel and neutral color scheme. There are animal-themed accents, like a skeleton head and artwork indicating the various cuts of beef on the cow. The owners and chef handled the design work themselves.
